Traditional Chinese spring festival celebration at Delight+ Chinese Cuisine restaurant. About 10 members attended and enjoyed the Chinese food. Each member got a little gift from SCCFA.
Saskatoon Chapter had a banquet at Su Nan’s Garden restaurant to celebrate the Chinese New Year, on January 18, 2020. At the banquet, SCCFA president, Shirley Wei, warmly welcomed 3 new members who joined recently. Since this year is the 50th anniversary of the CA-CN diplomatic ties, as well as the 40th anniversary of FCCFA, our chapter had a discussion on how to celebrate those big events. At last, Shirley made a toast to everyone, Happy Chinese New Year!
After the dinner, we all went to Lakeview Church to watch “2020 Saskatoon Spring Festival Celebration”(春晚). The show lasted for about 3 hours, performing with gorgeous dancing, singing, Kung Fu, etc. Everyone had a fantastic time!
We welcomed new members (just have two new members joined us this week),
practised some Chinese language, shared our experience to China before.
We had a gathering dinner in Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot restaurant. Some shared their experiences of travelling to China, and others shared their Tai Chi experience.
We had a celebration of the establishment of SCCFA (Saskatoon Canada-China Friendship Association), dining at Summer Palace. The event started with a welcome speech by Shirley Wei (President of SCCFA), followed by an introduction by Allison Hill (Secretary of SCCFA), and a guest self-introduction to allow everyone get to know each other.
